Pratibha Gautam My name is Pratibha Gautam, and I am a graduate student in the Developmental Psychology program at the University of Alabama. I am currently working under Dr. Mengya Xia in the DREAMS lab. My research interests include adolescent social-emotional development, family processes, empathy, and pro and anti-social behavior. Outside of school and research, I enjoy watching different shows, reading, and attempting to cook. |
Korina Odom
My name is Korina Odom, and I am a first year graduate student for the Developmental Psychology program at the University of Alabama. I am currently receiving mentorship from Dr. Mengya Xia while assisting the F.E.E.L.ING Study that is a part of the DREAMS Lab. My research interests are how parent engagement contributes to adolescent socio-emotional development and adjustment, as well as peer support and mentoring among adolescents. When I am not submerged in research or class assignments, I enjoy being a foodie, playing with my dog, spending time with my loved ones, and doing outdoor activities. |
Yi Chen
Yi Chen is a Ph.D. candidate in the Educational Psychology program (Educational Neuroscience concentration). She is now in the "Love" Project working with Dr. Xia. Besides interesting in how people define Love, as well as feeling Love differently, she also interested in music perception in general, especially with the help of neuroscience technology (e.g. fMRI). Outside the lab and classroom, she likes to wander in a good-weather day, stare blankly at the pretty sky or people on the street, or learn about music theory. |
Shannon Dunne
My name is Shannon Dunne, and I am a junior at UA from Chicago, IL. I am majoring in psychology and Spanish, and I assist in the F.E.E.L.ING and Love projects in Dr. Xia’s Dreams Lab. My goal is to attend graduate school for psychology after I graduate from UA, and my research interests include adolescents and their relationships with family and friends as well as autism. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time outside. |
Hannah Sliman
My name is Hannah Sliman, and I am currently a junior here at The University of Alabama. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in general business and criminal justice. I assist in the F.E.E.L.ING and Love projects in Dr. Xia’s Dreams Lab. My goal is to attend graduate school for child clinical psychology after I graduate. My research interest includes children, relationships, psychopathy, and conduct disorder. During my free time I love spending time with my family and friends. |
